F1 Authentics - owned by Memento Exclusives, the UK-based sports memorabilia specialist – auctioned a current season Williams F1 car. The FW45 Show Car was an exclusive reproduction of the cars the team ran at the 2023 British Grand Prix, driven by Alex Albon and Logan Sargeant.
The Williams FW45 that the iconic British race team competed with for the British Grand Prix had a different look to the chosen 2023 liveries. The FW45 race cars both donned Union Flag designs, with the Silverstone race signifying not only the home race of the team but their 800th Grand Prix. Ironically the British race - one of the most anticipated on the F1 calendar - ended up being the team’s 799th race, due to the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix being cancelled earlier in the year leading the season to feature one less race prior to the team’s milestone event. Nevertheless, Williams chose to run with the one-off livery at Silverstone Circuit.
To celebrate this phenomenal team and its rich heritage in the sport, three Show Cars will be constructed by Memento Exclusives - one of which was auctioned on the F1 Authentics platform for collectors to battle it out in the bid to become the owner of. These three editions will be the only ones made worldwide, so this unique auction will be a once-in-a-life-time opportunity for race car collectors.
The Williams F1 story is a well known one in the F1 community and the world. Founded in 1977 by Frank Williams and Patrick Head, the team had its first F1 race the same year. Since then, the team has become one of the sport’s biggest powerhouses, producing seven Drivers’ World Champions and claiming nine Constructors’ World Championship Titles.
