We are delighted to confirm that the Automobile Club de l’Ouest (ACO), operators of the 24hrs Le Mans, has signed a long-term licensing agreement to bring exclusive race memorabilia to fans of the world’s most famous motor endurance race. The agreement will enable ACO to market exclusive and authentic 24hrs Le Mans track team and driver memorabilia, both past and present, via dedicated digital auction and retail platforms, created by The Memento Group, as well as with track side retail. Launching in 2021 this will be part of the build up to the 100th anniversary of the event in 2023.
The landmark agreement will see, for the very first time, ACO opening the vaults of its archives and permitting the sale of certain artefacts, while ensuring that the story and heritage of the events is told in its exciting museum at Le Mans. Fans will have the unprecedented opportunity to purchase team and driver memorabilia including ex race cars, race-used and replica car parts, racewear and helmets, all guaranteed for authenticity and provenance.
Pierre Fillon, president of the Automobile Club de l’Ouest, commented: ” We are delighted to enter into partnership with The Memento Group. The fans of our race are pivotal to the development of the club and this new relationship is therefore a logical step for us. Motoring enthusiasts will be able to prolong a visit of the treasure-trove that is the 24 hours of Le Mans museum by taking a piece of history home with them. We look forward to presenting the offer next spring.
Barry Gough, CEO of The Memento Group, added:“Following introductions by Le Mans rights holder IMG, we are thrilled to be working with a brand that is synonymous with motorsport. 24hrs Le Mans is the true test of man and machine. Speed, endurance and reliability, combined with nearly a century of history, delivers iconic moments that few sporting events can match. Our mission is to enable fans to own those special moments with exclusive access to authentic merchandise, whether this be the latest team memorabilia or classic items from the ACO archives. We’re delighted to have 24hrs Le Mans on board.”
